When did you feel directed to enter the ministry? Answer: I actually felt a "call" into the ministry at age 24 back in 1981. It wasn’t until my father went to be with the Lord that in 1991 I felt a strong calling upon my life for His people. I began holding bible studies in my home in the Bayview Hunters Point in San Francisco and what started off with just a hand full of people in my living room, it began to grow into a recreation center. During this time I was spiritually searching for God's Will for my life. I was also spending time in personal Bible study and in prayer. the heart of God for His purpose to be the driving force and motivation of this humbling experience. Sunday, September 15, 1991 we held our first Sunday service in Alameda, California with 16 people in attendance, eight was my family members. We had service like it was 16,000 in attendance. It grew until the people on hand decided to appoint us a pastor. They all in one accord nominated me and appointed me to be the pastor. At that time, I rejected it because I was a very talented person and I thought I would be a great background or behind the scene person. A few weeks later, we held our 2nd meeting and I was appointed again, but I pushed it to another elder in our fellowship. It wasn’t until we went to our old church’s conference held in L. A. that some events took place and upon our return from the conference, those whom we went to try to have our church enter into the F.S.F.P.G.C organization left us and returned to the our old church. Saturday, April 24, 1993 we were ordained and dedicated to the ministry by Dr. Violet Kiteley of Shiloh Christian Fellowship in Oakland, California as Pastors of at the time Samoan Full Gospel Christian Fellowship (No affiliations with the Full Gospel movement). We attended a conference and the Lord impressed in my heart that “Souls” has no color, so we omitted “Samoan” and kept the name; Full Gospel Christian Fellowship. We were a ministry known for our radical choir; “SOUL’D OUT CHOIR!” A powerful and anointed choir in the Bay Area. In the year 2000, I met my current spiritual father, an anointed man of God, great leader, mentor a Pastor of Pastors, a father to many son’s across the nation; Dr. Phillip and Brenda Goudeaux of Calvary Christian Center in Sacramento, CA and now we are known as,“SOUL’D OUT CHRISTIAN CENTER INTERNATIONAL" |
engaged to be married to this gentleman in the Army. It was a Friday night and I was helping my father prepare the set to a wedding ceremony he was officiating and in walks this tall girl 5-10,slender, nice brown color skin with long silky hair down to her backside (if you know what I mean) that was breath- taking! Well something happened in my life at that moment after my accident and it was like a paradigm shift for me. I was really searching for God's will for my life and at the same time I was asking God to bring me the woman that would please Him as well as compliment the gifts He’s blessed me with. Something happened internally in both of our hearts and we both broke up with our friends and started dating each other. behold she was in the church service. Call it the Lord’s voice or whatever, but I heard a voice and at the Sunday feast, she was sitting close to the kitchen when I bent down and introduced myself and gathered up enough nerve to ask for her number and wow, she gave it to me. I met her in 1981 and I took her out to all the expensive restaurants in San Francisco and Oakland. The funny thing about it was that my dad found out and he helped finance a few dinners himself he liked her so much. went to meet her parents and she came to meet my parents and then wedding plans were in the making. Since my dad was already a minister, we went to meet with her parents to ask her parents to allow my dad to officiate the wedding. It’s our Samoan tradition that the girls minister officiates the wedding. Her parents was so kind to give my dad the honor. And so therefore Alexander M. Toeaina and Fiaau L. Toeaina were happily married Saturday, July 24, 1982 in the City by the Bay; San Francisco, California. July of 2007 we celebrated 25 years in marriage, blessed with 6 wonderful children; Alexandria, Albert, Alexis, Alex II, Lefefe and Arthur. |
| Do you have a question for Pastor Alex Toeaina? |
| Question: Who Has the most Influence on your life and ministry? Answer: Foremost I would have to say my father. Dad was greatly used of the Lord even as a local pastor. He was and is a praying man and has a strong faith that God is able to do anything you can believe Him to do. Dad's prayer life and faith had an impact upon me as a child. He was an awesome husband to our mother and a mean, butgreat father to us (Albert, Alex, Lagi, Ofaira and Aziel). He was also a man of great personal integrity. He has maintained the highest level of personal integrity and his ministry has been above reproach. Dad is presently with the Lord today, but his legacy lives on forever in his children who are continuing the calling upon his life back in 1962. He died at the age of 62 and left an organization of over 45 branches all over the world including Germany, Japan, New Zealand, etc. Morris Cerillo, Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, A.A Allen, Shambach, Catherine Kulman and many others all of whom I’ve met through my father. During the camp meeting I saw with my own eyes several outstanding miracles of healing. I remember watching our assistant pastor’s wife’s leg grow to be even with her other leg. During those days ministers would form prayer lines for those in need and pray for each person individually. I recall the lame being instantly healed. Miracles really impacted my young little mind. |
